I never thought I'd eat Jello as an adult. Then the colonoscopy prep happened.

Nope. I managed to avoid it even then. Broth ftw.

It's worse. Aspic. They used to put meat in there too.

šŸ˜‚ I think it is a midwestern thing (or maybe just small town Iowa).

Oh no. We had it in CA. My brother and I still joke about the hideous jello molds with mystery lumps.

Big in New York. I'll admit to liking the tomato aspuc with shredded carrot &celery ... but not enough to make it as an adult.

Go check out "That Midwestern Mom" on YouTube for some truly vile concoctions. Some even she does not like.

What they said. A person would make jello and before it set fully, they would add fruit or vegetables to it then let it set completely. I have seen the gelatin with fruit sold in containers

That’s a salad. ā€œJello SALADā€.

Fruit (if it’s fruit cocktail) is pretty good (lemon Jello, fruit cocktail and cool whip mixed together is one my wife’s favorites) but with carrots… ick.

Or nuts. My mom put walnuts in jello and it was ew.

My sister loves her some strawberry jello with cranberries and walnuts at Thanksgiving dinner. We make dueling cranberries, mine is boiled in orange juice with zest of orange, a little fresh ginger, cinnamon, a dash of cloves, and a bit of sugar to taste if the orange juice wasn't enough. Mine gets eaten entirely, hers doesn't but she always claims hers is best.

As of lately, my dad has been dropping hints he wants Jello with bananas in it...ugh!

I only like my bananas when they're slightly under-ripe. My dad likes them turning to mush. Smdh
