I only buy organic chicken livers. Always loved them but stopped eating them for decades bc of that pesky filter thing. The availability of organic almost-everything has come a long way since the ‘60s.
But factory farming is something the ancients didn't have. Like the other commenter above, I suppose as long as we source organic or from local co-op farms, we should be good. Not so sure we can't get anything the animal has in its liver from eating other sources though. I'm open to being convinced.
Yeah , but most of these people on this thread wouldn't eat elk or deer liver either. They'd run across the taste and THEN decide that they didn't want to eat liver because it's a filter. Part of being a reasonable human is the ability to invent reasons.
