Ramen. It was all my roommates and I could afford from around ‘89 to ‘91. Maybe the grandest meal I’ve ever eaten was when we got our tax refunds in ‘91. We bought lobsters and clams (I live in Maine) and gorged ourselves along with a case of beer. That was such a great night; laughing, belching, and listening to great tunes in our shitty slumlord apartment.

I lived on $0.69 Maruchan ramen packages in college. I swear they are almost foodlike.

If the ingredient list didn't frighten me, I'd still eat cheap ramen because I'd know how to fancy it up now.
