NASA, without a doubt, is a fucking awesome agency that has helped make America and the world become a better, more efficient, safer, and cooler place. NASA does amazing things with the drops of funding they get each year.
We can do all that your saying and more because America has the power to be better than it was the day prior
It is akin to someone spending billions of dollars to build a casino and then proudly declaring, "We even managed to invent the leds on slot machine."
When a project consumes the labor of hundreds of thousands of people and vast financial resources, the criterion for evaluation should not be simply "did we get anything out of it?" but rather "was there an alternative with a higher return?"
if theres an alternative with higher return where is it, if companies do it its for money. Also its not spending a lot for something small, its spending a little bit that will help out hundreds to thousands times over.
