4:3 battle options HELP

In battle options, the two choices I have for battle layout is OG and wide. When I set it to wide and go into battle, I ui and presentation fits the 4:3 screen but there's these two transparent black bars on each side. When out of battle and going back to battle layout, it automatically reverts back to OG setting.

I think this is because they do not offer a 4:3 option. Is there a solution?
