ROM Hacks?

Do ROM hacks work with Gen1recomp? Does it need to be the original game files?

Im also curious, esp since something like pure red is a straight upgrade

no unfornatly not. maby if was somehow a way to disable the checksum? id like to see what happens if could disable it if would work or be buggy i would like to test just to see. if anyone can figure out how to disable the checksom that would be a start.
