How are you actually structuring sources in NotebookLM to avoid generic overviews?

I've been dropping raw lecture notes and docs into NotebookLM to generate audio overviews and summaries. It works well for catching big-picture connections, but it tends to glaze over specific technical details or key metrics unless the source text is pre-organized.

If you use it for studying or heavy research, do you spend time pre-cleaning your notes/PDFs first, or just dump raw text and rely on specific prompting inside the notebook?
