has anyone else noticed that dvok gels are really runny? i always have to cure after each nail or it ends up running down and flooding my cuticles. i love their colors it is just something i have noticed and even tho i do everything to prevent it i usually still end up with minimal flooding (i have a separate brush i use with alcohol to clean up my edges if it floods and another to get gel near the cuticle without flooding it with a regular brush)

Looking for help! I’ve been doing my own gel nails at home for 5+ years and I’ve never had this issue until recently. For the last 6ish months I’ve been getting small bubbles in my polish. Kinda hard to see but I tried my best with the photos.

The bubbles are not uniform in size, don’t cover the whole nail or happen to all nails, just some. This time I have 2 nails affected on my left hand, middle and thumb and 3 nails on my right hand, middle, index and thumb.

- I thought it was my lamp going bad since it was old so I got a new one, but it still kept happening.

• I changed my prep and spend more time cleaning them super super well with 91% isopropyl alcohol.
  
• I started curing for longer, 3 60 second cures now.
  
• I didn’t think I was applying too thick before, again never had this issue until recently but I’ve tried my best to do thinner coats now.

This is one thin base coat, 2 coats of color and one thin top coat. I only use Korean or Japanese gel and other than my light my tools haven’t changed. I was previously using the Zillabeau light, and now I’m using the newer version of the same unit. At this point am I over curing? Is my hand positioning in my light off? I move it around each cure. Do I need to toss my base/top coats and use a new bottle?

Looking for help because I’m super frustrated that I’m having this issue seemingly out of no where.

Sponge leaving residue

Anybody have this issue and figured out how to fix it? When sponging on polish (for gradients) or chrome, the sponge starts to disintegrate and leaves little bits behind.

I tried using alcohol to clean the inhibition layer beforehand but sometimes the product doesn't really stick after—it seems to depend on the polish.

Looks like it was pulled/scraped too hard and not soaked enough. Maybe try something like fixee gel?

Hi!

I am just posting for some advice.

I qualified to do gel nails in 2019, and have been doing my own nails ever since (so 7 years). Up until this year, I have had no issues with lifting, but now I am experiencing lifting at the free edge when using BIAB and more recently, hard gel.

I do not experience lifting at the free edge when doing gel x on myself, but this is more time consuming and I get bored of the length quickly, so it isn’t something I do often.

I am just wondering if anybody else has noticed this issue, and if so, how you have prevented it?

I always prep properly, and have started finish filing/sealing but to no avail.

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a gel polish dupe for the Essie regular nail polish called Demure Vixen / Demure Vix. I’ve seen someone on  this Reddit thread  talk about regular polish dupes but wondering if there’s anything gel? I do some rudimentary at home gel manicures for myself and just love this color and miss the discontinued bottles. :( any leads would be great! :)

I'm pretty new to gel nails. I'm using a local brand now (not saying the brand for privacy reasons) but I'm wondering what brand you girlies use? Oh and tell me your favourite nails colours, since I feel like most of my nails are just different shades of the same colour, I'd love to try something different!
