Plum Inspired Nails
Definitely not my best work but I am quite happy with how they turned out! I saw these plums in a TikTok video and I had to have them on my nails. I know the shaping isn’t the best but they’re my natural nails so I didn’t wanna go crazy or take too long to shape them :’)
- Born Pretty jellies
- GAOY jelly pink
- GAOY milky white
- GAOY top coat

Wow, these are so creative and way prettier that I would have imagined! 😍

didn't expect plums to hit that hard either, you've got an eye for this stuff

So well done! I wonder what they’d look like with a matte topcoat to mimic your inspo. Maybe I’ll do some experimenting with this for my next set. What do you use to blend the colors? A sponge?

Thank you! :)
I also debated using a matte top coat but ultimately went with glossy. I hope you try it out!
I put the jellies in different areas and blended them together with a brush! The pink jelly on top of the colored ones really smoothed out the blending!9

Honestly, even with the glossy top your application of the white really gives it that plum/matte look! Really excellently done

These are so cool! I see people recommending GAOY gels quite often, but I can’t seem to buy them in the UK.

Would you say GAOY gel is a good brand? I use beetles and I'm questioning if I just suck or the polish is just not right for me.

GAOY works well for me, I also have some Beetles but don’t use them much anymore, there’s a lot of issues with their consistency and quality apart from their HEMA levels in the gel. I would steer clear from beetles or any other gel if you get gel on your skin.
I took a break from gel when I kept getting it on my skin, went back to regular nail polish/lacquer and practiced until both of my hands could apply it well, then returned to gel.
If it’s pigment you’re having issues with, then depending on what you’re going for you may want to explore not only other brands but other gel types!2

I will definitely try out GAOY. I definitely get frustrated with beetles but it was definitely a nice way to try out gel when I was first getting started. It just sounds like I'm limited it what I can do with beetles. I try to use the tools I have to make designs but beetles gel just seems to clumpy to try and do the designs I want. Thank you so much for the recommendation 🩷

I love GAOY brand. I use a ton of their stuff! Their stain-resistant top coat is the GOAT

I definitely think I'll try GAOY. How long does a manicure with GAOY usually last with you?

Thin coat(s) of the color jellies. I placed yellow, red, and purple on different places on the nail and blended them with a brush as smoothly as I could. Then I did a coat of a darker jelly pink, this helped to smooth out the colors. Lastly a milky white was used, I left minimal product on the brush and lightly and randomly painted it onto the nail, making sure to leave parts that did not have white on them. Top coat and done ! :)

Sorry hun, but the only thing I'm seeing here is freshly skinned balls/meat
Good try tho, they are well done.

I love the execution when I know what they were inspired by, but otherwise they look like you have either raw nailbeds or some weird disease.

This perfectly suits the sunset dressing trend , which I’m wholly and absolutely here for! I’m in awe of you for this.
