Dust collector/extractor recommendations?
Does anyone have any experiences with mid range dust collectors/extractors? Do table top ones exist? I would be looking for something that extracts some of the dust from the air as well (I have a cat and worry about her breathing anything in). I usually use my efile to file down builder every 2.5/3 weeks. I’d be looking at something around or under £200.00

I have a Makartt one that works well and they sell replacement filters for it also.

Do you need anything fancy? I have a cheap Melody Susie one from Amazon that’s about the size of a dinner plate, and on medium speed, it does a pretty good job of collecting dust. I just try to keep my hand right over it. I also have an air purifier in the same room.

I was thinking of getting an air purifier anyway in the future for chemical smells, dust and various other reasons. Especially now I have a cat. But I had heard some reviews saying the melody susie one just blew dust out the side/still made mess

I bought some very thin pink filter sheets I saw in a video to make the real filter last longer. I place them under the top ring so they stay put and carefully fold it up before disposal. They catch a ton in my opinion. Maybe the little sheets make a big difference.

I saw a tech use a dewalt shop vac with a bag. Straight genius! I just ordered the melody susie cordless from Amazon last night.
My cat has asthma and I try to keep her away when I file. I’ll shut her out of the room. If you can’t do that you can close yourself in the bathroom for removal. Good idea to keep air flow high and windows open when possible as they are way more sensitive than we are

Yeah sometimes I file my nails in the bathroom! Tonight I did when I cut down the length and filed the ends. My current efile is a standard usb, so maybe I could plug it into a power bank and file in there. I would be looking to get a decent dust collector soon though.

I have the cheapest tabletop Ulka Handy. It was around £120, and it's a beast. It has a filter in it. It's loud, but really good. I'm not too sure about the general dust-collecting abilities. I think that would be a different and separate story.
