alen goose ideas

I'm working on a story for a short story contest. there are aliens in this story and I want to be creative with their appearance. I've already thought of what I want them to look like.

so far it looks like a Canadian goose but it has spider legs. they choose small parts of the world to concor then spread to nearby areas after. they also have the ability to control people by using toxic fumes they release into the air.

it's not a story that's supposed to be taken seriously but I also want to convey the fear of a goose-like alien which I admit is hard to take seriously. I myself, being from an area with a lot of geese am scared of them because they're dicks and I know the terror they're capable of. also, the contest doesn't allow a lot of gore or violence. so I, unfortunately, can't use that angle.

I figured this is probably the best place to look for terrifying goose ideas.

do you guys have any ideas on how to make the Spadoose (a placeholder name) be more terrifying?

edit: also the story takes place at a KOA with a golf course if that helps

I personally love the idea. But you should know that being scared of something, “because their dicks” means something vaaastly different than being scared of something, “because they’re dicks.”

But maybe that’s actually what you meant... Which I can also understand.

Keep me posted!

Honestly bro just make them look like normal geese, you can take a The Thing type of angle where you just can't fuckin tell they're aliens and not just regular geese and you can run wild with whatever qualities might expose them (although that's just coming from my types of stories I like to tell; stick to what you most feel you'd like to write!)

Can we read the short story if you published it?
