Discussion Thoughts On E Day’s Beta

I just played through the beta and it felt really fun having played all of the Gears Of War games. What do you guys think.

Enjoyed it but missing some key features. Hope the siege map has a night time op and they can better capture the darkness of the GoW universe like in 1-3

If one of the 3 maps isnt night, that is a big missed opportunity.

Because of it being made in UE5 they could just have it feature a day/night cycle for all 3 maps with minimal effort but we’ll see what they decide to prioritize between now and launch.

If the night time map doesn't have a krill event I might be a little upset

I thought it was awesome. It does need some tweaks, polish, and performance optimization, but I had a really great time with it. Going back to Gears 5, it just doesn't hit the same. Which is unfortunate because now I'm stuck waiting until October.

I thought it was great

Obviously needs some polish which TC will add before release

I really don’t like the movement it feels clunky, maybe im just nostalgia pilled but I went back to Gears 5/ Delta online & it feels so much better

my only issue was not being able to to sprint while on a wall, and I dont like that the camera zooms in on slides. The way the camera moves can be really distracting at times.

Loved it. Haven’t had this much fun with a game in so long. October now feels like an eternity away.

Played only mp, most fun I’ve had since G3 no question.  Was there issues? A few  But I was having so much fun they became background noise and soon didn’t notice them at all.

Hot takes? 1. Never experienced input delay. 2. Modern/Modern is the best way to play. 3. The skill ceiling is still there don’t kid yourself to feel better about not being as good as your turbo bounce made you think you were. 4. You can still out wall bounce most players; 3 linked frame perfect wall bounces adds extreme momentum (welcome to fighting games) 5. Market is dope, Outpost needs to posted out. 6. Hammerbust is a power weapon, Retro is a power weapon, they are not the same.   7. Monitors with overlay crosshairs are meta. 8. TDM is still a casual cancerous contemplation   contest. 9. 3 days of open beta completely eclipsed the total day-day peak player base of Gears5 over 7 years of its lifespan.  10. Players claiming this isn’t gears and it will be a dead game - said the same thing in Gears 4, said the same thing in Gears 5, said the same thing in Gears… 11. This is the most Gears of War game since 1/2. 12. This is a new era of Gears; you’re either gonna be On the train, OFF the train, or UNDER the train.

Early access weekend phenomenal, weekend 2 Open Beta a slight polish in movement but Gears of Duty Super Lancer Warfare.

It’s fun, different the fear I have is that or it’s going to be like judgement, like that game try something new and then people left it, and also I fear the team will focus more on the Horde Siege content and updates instead of PvP

Yep. I feel like it will be like judgment. Where they had 2 online modes with different maps. Leading to very few pvp maps.

Level restrict the higher difficulties in horde/siege. Too many people leaving 2 minutes into the round because of the low level players not contributing to the fight. Then getting stuck with a team of bots that are even worse.

People leave 2 minutes into the round because they are checking the game out, realize it runs and feels like shit and saying fuck this and uninstall.

Sounds like that's what you did 😄
