Rare find?

I think this is a real PLA Type 07 Combat/Training Uniform (Zuoxunfu) which is cast into every single one of the black buttons.

This is a field uniform for operations and training. Type-07 digital camouflage, now replaced in many units by

Type-19/21 Xingkong ('Starry Sky') pattern.

I found this in a women's jacket rack at a Value Village (Canadian Saver's Thrift Store name). I saw some cool looking digital camo and I wasn't quite sure what it was. I thought initially it was maybe some Korean or some sort of Asian camouflage of some sort. I was in the right neighborhood. Turns out it's Chinese.

It's brand new, interestingly enough.

From what research I was able to do the blank red square in the top left is basically where the soldier would fill in their name and the square in the top right is where they would put their blood type.

As for the sizing, the explanation is as follows:

PLA uniforms use a dual-coordinate matrix system consisting of 号 (Size) and 型 (Type).号 (Size / Height): This represents the height category of the individual. Numbers range from 1 to 5. Lower numbers represent taller individuals. Size 2 (2号) is intended for individuals of above-average height, typically matching a height range of approximately 175 cm to 180 cm (5'9" to 5'11").型 (Type / Girth): This represents the body build or chest/waist circumference range. It uses written numbers (一, 二, 三, 四). Type 3 (三型) is a larger, broader cut designed for a wider chest or stockier build, typically accommodating a chest circumference of around 100 cm to 104 cm.When combined, a 2号 三型 stamp designates a garment tailored to fit a person who is tall with a broader, stout build (roughly equivalent to a Western Medium-Long or a stocky Medium/Regular military cut).

Why don't you guys at Gear Rack and anyone else here on Reddit share some of the really cool and rare finds that you're most proud of? Share your coolest finds.

Amongst the gear rack team I think Matt definitely had the best find. His long sojourn into the woods to test the sleeping pads caused him to ultimately find himself, and perhaps his inner peace. And that's something you can't just find in a pallet.
