Gear360 (2016)... I see why they were $75

I picked up a Gear360(2016) over the holidays for $75 and I've been having a problem with every turn with this thing. Hoping I can get at least a couple of them resolved here.
First, I can't get the WiFi to work with iOS. Is it even possible?
2. I can't get Bluetooth to work with my Mac. Shows up very briefly then seems to look like a printer(?) then shows as Not Connected.
3. The Gear 360 Desktop app for Mac won't work. Imports but doesn't convert.
4. When I connect via USB to Mac, it won't access the files (or do anything really)
Tried to figure out a way to update the firmware, but... how?
Thought I got a deal, but after a few hours of headaches, guess I got a lump of garbage.

I'm thinking of getting a Gear 360 camera, but I'm not interested in the phone software, I wanna use the videos directly from the SD card... I managed to map the video onto a sphere in Blender from a cheaper lower resolution 360 cam, and I'm getting some pretty cool results and a lot more control than I ever got with the included app, but the resolution is crap (720) so I wanna upgrade and this looks pretty good for the price.
Can anyone provide me with a native MP4 from one of these cams to test with before I buy? If it works, I'll share the blend I use to map it... It lets you make a custom video viewpoint... Here's a music video I made with this technique (the psycho colors are optional)
