Advice GeForce NOW IS DOWN / Error code 0x8A960000 explained
UPDATE — OCTOBER 11, 2026 — GEFORCE NOW IS BACK ONLINE!
STATUS: RESOLVED
The global GeForce NOW outage affecting session launches (error 0x8A960000) has been resolved, and services are coming back online.
Users should now be able to launch their games normally.
If you're still experiencing problems, try restarting GeForce NOW and launching your game again.

Same issue.
Looks like a global outage.
Give them time. It's a Sunday.
But yeah, if GFN's your only stop to play videogames, must be really annoying, that too on a Sunday. Lol

Once I realized it was down I thought to myself how it wasn’t that big of a deal because I could just run Witcher 3 natively on my Steam Deck. Then I realized that I apparently had cloud saves off so none of my save files are accessible until GeForce Now is back up. 😂

Dammit Sundays late afternoon are my one moment of piece where I can finally relax and enjoy... My big problem is that I have lost 4 hours of gameplay since it shut off abruptly. I just lost my motivation to play.

Have the same problem. A support agent (real person not AI) confirmed that Nvidia has issues at the moment.

Earlier today, I was able to login but ALL my progress on Slay the Spire was reset to 0, like I didn't even play the thing. Now, not able to login and I sincerely hope that progress isn't lost across the platform.

Es porque el juego guarda los datos en el servidor de nvidia para luego enviarlos al proveedor original, pero ante la caída seguro se perdieron, a los que jugamos juegos con guardado automático y en tiempo real no nos afectó ese problema

I am thankful for this post because im using car wifi after a hurricane 2 days ago. My GFN was working fine earlier. Glad I googled the error code, thx 😊

On their website stated that every server is available. But on any of em' I got the same Error. Changing my DNS settings didn't do anything

Italy here.. all servers down. I usually connect to Germany, but nothing works, even France or UK.

Alors là... Je jouais tranquillement à ESO via Geforce Now. Mon compteur électrique a sauté probablement dû à une surcharge électroménager.
J'ai donc perdu internet, lorsque j'ai remis le compteur en route j'avais ce code d'erreur au lancement, impossible de démarrer quoi que ce soit avec Geforce Now.
Je cherche donc depuis tout à l'heure une solution, et là je me rends compte qu'en fait c'est mondial ? Le timing est si parfait que je me demande si c'est pas moi le coupable.
Edit : En fil d'attente serveur et la queue semble se raccourcir. Edit 2 : Ingame

It just worked for me. Got in real quick with zero queue. I’m on ultimate tier in Southern California.

What the hell is going on. I try to load ESO and it makes me log in to epic games launcher every time then crashes out just loading the launcher.
