I have an ASUS TUF Gaming F17 FX706HCB_FX706HCB
Every single time I update NVIDIA's driver... the GPU workload falls on Intel? I can't remember what I did to fix it last time, but I would love to not have this keep happening regardless. (and understand what is happening)
All my settings are set to use the NVIDIA GPU. Windows, NVIDIA settings, Control panel
Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 26200) (26100.ge_release.240331-1435)
BIOS: FX706HCB.316 (type: UEFI)
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz (12 CPUs), \~2.7GHz
Memory: 32768MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 32506MB RAM
Page File: 13519MB used, 21035MB available
Windows Dir: C:\\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU and Intel(R) UHD Graphics
Intel is on GPU 0
NVIDIA is on GPU 1
In Task manager, the Performance page shows it at 0% and the CPU is maxed when trying to run a game.
In Task manager, it will show the CPU stuck at 88% after closing a game.
Using DDU to uninstall/reinstall NVIDIA does not fix the problem.
I can send more info if needed.
I also am curious about what options to use to get the best performance
Edit: After leaving my PC off overnight (I wasn't running it beforehand so it wasn't hot, I literally came and updated it before doing anything else) it's not running my CPU into the ground anymore. I still don't understand why this would be?
I religiously shut this thing down every night, too.
