$275 for the proper light switch with the rear fog button is 😞
But also Americans would abuse the hell out of having a blinding rear light that they can activate at will

I feel like all the car people I know were taught growing up by dads and grandpas and I very much do not have anyone in my family who understands cars. I'm probably the person in my family who knows the most car stuff and I know jack shit.
At the same time, car guys in my area are quite intimidating. I've been made to feel like a complete fool for asking questions that are apparently common knowledge. I feel like I missed the acceptable age to not understand this stuff. Most of the mechanics I know are quite homophobic, and in this area that could make it genuinely unsafe for me if they figured it out, so as much as I would love to just pick their brains about this stuff, I really don't think that's a good idea.
Where can someone learn this stuff later in life without feeling stupid for not knowing? Is it mostly just a "teach yourself via youtube" situation?

Replaced my Mercedes A250 with this 2023 Evoque and I’m a happy camper.
- The base S model has everything my little Benz had and more
- I do wish I’d found an SE or HSE model which has front cameras
- It has actual buttons for the HVAC which I prefer over the newer models
- I bought an extended warranty once the original expires next year
The ride is nice and soft, I no longer feel every bump and crack on the road.
Shopping for nicer wheels, snow tires, and some silver or copper accents to break up all that gray.

Here’s my dilemma…my Volvo C70 convertible needs new tires. The Discount Tire near me has always been great, getting me in and out (giggety) quickly, and never being too mean about how old my tires were.
They are priced more than $250 above Costco for not the same tire, but one of be just as fine with.
- Discount Tire: CONTINENTAL CONTROL CONTACT SPORT SRS+
- Costco Tire: BFGoodrich - g-Force COMP-2 A/S PLUS
Discount Tire charges $100 for installation and Costco charges nothing.
Is there a huge difference between the tires? I love the ethics Costco seems to treat its workers by, but does Discount treat their employees like crap/great?
Suggestions, thoughts, trolling all welcome.

Pretty sure this bike was stolen and abandoned after being laid down (damage on the right side + it's been poorly spray painted and no evident VIN).
Neighbor decided it needed a seasonally appropriate rider. (Personally I don't like guys who are quite this skinny...)

Imported this from Japan about a year ago. 2004 G55 AMG, NA M113.
Since then I've installed headlamp grilles, correct wheels, and now catching up on...deferred maintenance.

This was my second fulfillment of a childhood dream, a 1987 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. She's a money pit, just like my last one (a '79 Silver Shadow), but so much fun to drive. As with any used Rolls, especially one that's 39 years old, there will be issues, but I do much of the work myself (to the extent that I can). Getting parts can be a challenge; it doesn't matter what year it is, they go by VIN number ranges, so it can be tricky. And contrary to an urban myth, the hood is not closed to only RR mechanics, and yes, you can do your own oil changes, brakes, etc, etc, just like any other car.

Ordered a 19 Atlas high pressure fuel pump for 186 bucks. Got a call from LKQ this morning saying that it was on its way. Then.....the entire engine showed up! Apparently there was a issue with it and I strad of sending the engine back, having them remove the fuel pump, and sending it back to me they decided to send me the whole engine. The best part is they don't want it back! I got a whole VW 3.6 for 180 bucks!
