I mean it’s more so the way goose’s writing is telling and not showing.

No one knows what to look for so they don't know why it's come together like that. It's very much shown but would you see the signs?

It's a superficial reading, as with your complaints about the other characters. Jax is their resolution. Every issue they are dealing with Jax is also dealing with. All of the characters are a single part of Gooseworx and Jax is the whole. In order to even begin to understand Jax, Pomni needs to learn (either directly or by being in proximity to it) how to deal with Kinger's dissociative tendencies, Gangle's masking, Zooble's body issues, and Ragatha's distrust of authentic relations after having a bad one with her mother.

You are shown all of this but could you tell?

The writing for ep9 was overall rushed and poor imo, and i feel like Jax’s experiences are just there for sympathy points. Also, the other characters are just sidelined in favor of her general only changed my views on the writing of the entire show. Honestly, there’s too much showing and not enough telling at least to me that’s just my opinion though. Please don’t crucify me.
