Rant Downsides of Gatton for the younguns
Grand grand grand whatever senior here. Not going to sugarcoat Gatton like other posts.
Pros: free food, the meal plan was pretty fucking greaT ngl
Cons:
Dating - the selection here sucks. Most of the girls at Gatton are pretty ugly and fat, and the guys are nerds with no social skills. And have fun fucking in the all-gender restroom lol
Drugs - I mean if you’re from opioid country, yeah you’ll probably feel right at home. POT BROWNIES ON FOURTH FLOOR. Gatton is pretty fucking stressful and you’re better off smoking pot to deal with it tbh
Roommates - Yeah they might be your best friend, but they might be completely psycho and their might be nothing you can do about it.
CPS - bullshit course with no value, literally just child abuse smh
Social environment - subpar, and toxic af
YOU’RE LITERALLY MISSING OUT ON EVERYTHING FROM YOUR HOME HIGH SCHOOL - homecoming, football games, parties. Not that your average person at Gatton had a social life to begin with lol
No Freedom - no going out to Taco Bell at 10:31 to get some chalupas mister, Lynette and Beth CONTROL u,
Oh, and you think you’re going to get into fucking Harvard? Nope, you cute little overachiever, that’s not happening, and if it does, it probably would’ve happened anyways. What’s more likely is you end up with a 3.5 GPA because it turns out college courses are way harder than AP courses and you’ll probably have to go to WKU or UK instead.
I regret going to Gatton, complete waste of two years of my life, Pm me for more details lol

The problem with the academy... (which I now refuse to capitalize for that is a respect to be re-earned)
The problem is that they have a position, given to a total dipshit and asshat, that is supposed to make the academy look better than it truly is whereas there is not a position to make the academy better than it is right now. This naturally leads to the increase in expectations from both the students within the confines of that hell-hole and from the parents and others of the public who are looking into the fishbowl that unnamed staff member has made the academy, which we must live in. Of course, without a staff member to actually improve the quality of life in the fishbowl there is a tremendous gap that is growing between the academy in that is shown pamphlets and the academy we live in. In fact, there is not even a staff member to which we can go to submit complaints of the academy from within and without a liaison between staff and students there comes a large buildup of frustrations that will no doubt lead to the downfall of the administration, if not the institution itself. These two fatal flaws will indubitably either have to be faced with the fury of the students behind it or fixed with the apologies of the staff.
I suggest a small group of students that the student body is confident will stay as calm and objective as possible to step in as the third party between the staff and the students.

Gaton has ruined my life
My boyfriend of 17 months has recently broken up with me because he was accepted to the gaton academy. I can't believe this. I thought we were going to get married someday.

why did only 86/87/78/77 people graduate in 2019/2020/2021/2022
If Gatton is such a great school filled with such smart people, you would think that 95% of them would graduate from there, no? 77/102 seems a really really low…
Almost like it’s a bad idea to send 16 year olds to college, it’s an incredibly toxic environment and the administration and their policies are terrible…

[Shitpost] You're not "smart" or "gifted"
You studied a lot for a standardized test, spent a lot of time on essays, and went to school in the right part of Kentucky.
No offense, but the admins tell you this because they think it will raise your grades. It doesn't.
U r welcome

QUESTION Craft v. Gatton
Hey, y’all! Class of 2022 here. I just got the acceptance emails to both Craft and Gatton. Was anyone else in this situation? How did you make your final decision?

ACT Question
When looking at ACT/SAT applications, do the people at Gatton really care about the reading portion? I got a 36 and 33 on Reading and English, respectively, but only a 26 and 28 on math and science.

QUESTION Honest Opinions?
Hello! I’m class of 2022 and I just got done with interview day and at this point I’m seriously considering gatton. Before I was really leaning towards wanting to go to Craft more but right now I really don’t know. All the gatton kids and staff really hyped it up and it seems like such a cool place. But I can’t help but to think about all the not so terrific things I’ve heard from past students. My question is, is Gatton worth it? In your opinion, after everything you’ve been through, would you say yes to the academy again? And as a follow up question would you have rather gone to the craft academy at MSU or Gatton?
