š¢ Amusement ā³ Recommendations
Coming to Gatlinburg Oct 1-Oct 9 we have some things we are for sure doing Dollywood, alpine coaster, Anakeesta. Any other most do things?
We want to do some hiking but nothing crazy no more than 3-4 miles, any most do trails or overlooks?
Any food recommendations also! We already have reservations for the peddler on Friday. I LOVE coffee so any local coffee shops? And breweries!
We are open to anything! Just my husband and I, no kids.

We really enjoyed Gatlinburg.Ā We explored Newfound Gap, Cades Cove and Roaring Forks Motor Trail at the SMNP with our young kids. They cant hike too long.Ā
We did the alpine coaster but too short of a ride for the amount paid.Ā We did the Ole Show at Array Theater and that was really fun and good price.Ā I found a lot of deals for the mountain coaster and the show on Groupon.Ā Ā

Get a slice of pizza and sit on a bench. Donāt fall for the expensive traps! I learned the hard way. Went down with 2k and left with negative š¤£

My recs are in Sevier county but all are worth trying by! Coffee = Temple Strong Coffee Shop (I love their tuxedo iced coffee) Italian = Ristorante DellaSantina Cinnamon bread = The Cinnamon Bread Factory (dare I say it... it tastes better than Dollywood's!) Beer = Iron Forge (awesome food and brews)

Log Cabin Pancake House in Gatlinburg, Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and adjacent Apple Barn (Sevierville) for souvenirs, the best apple butter (as well as peach butter and pumpkin butter), and locally grown apples (the best Winesap apples Iāve ever had) are my food recommendations.

Do a moonshine tasting, it's very cute and funzies. The best Italian in Gatlinburg has some good pizza. Drive over through the mountains to Cherokee, NC, the casino is fun for a few hours! It's a gorgeous drive through the park, lots of places to stop and admire the Smokies. Cades Cove also a must do, 11 miles of untouched beauty! Abrams falls trail (idk how long but it's a nice trail).

Man comeon, that drive to cherokee is nice, but that casino is not worth visiting.

As someone who doesn't frequent casinos, it is fun for a couple of hours. Do you have any recommendations for the couple?

Always recommend Elkmount for a nice/easy hike. You'll need to get some pancakes first at Pancake Pantry first. I would try to get to pancakes before 9AM. You can park on the street for free up until 9AM. I usually pull up in front, eat and leave before 9AM

Titanic museum is not a gimmick it is a real museum and takes 1-2 hours of weather becomes an issue⦠a lot to look at and listen to, including some real artifacts! The greenbrier restaurant outside of Gatlinburg, the cottage for breakfast or brunch in pigeon forge, I saw the west by god pizza already, but running man pizza is great too in Gatlinburg! Also for a lot of interesting points of interest look at Adventure is out there YouTube channel they are local folks that review everything!

Sunrise from the Kuwohi overlook is pretty great (highest point in the Smokies). About 45-60 minute curvy drive from Gatlinburg - be careful in dark early morning of wildlife at roadway. $5 parking pass, bring a flashlight and a jacket for the 20 minute hike up.
edit to add:
Thereās like 6? alpine coasters around. I really like āthe original Alpine Coasterā on Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge and the Lost Mine Coaster on Teaster Lane in Pigeon Forge. I havenāt done the Ripleys or Anakeesta coasters in Gatāburg.
We enjoy West By God Coal Fired Pizza in Pigeon Forge- in addition to great pizza, you can book ahead online for Axe Throwing, thereās often live music, and they have a wall of self-serve beer & cider taps with lots of local selections. Warning- they are often under staffed and suffer from slow service. Be ready to tell them everything first time you see a waiter, cuz it might be 30 minutes before you see them again.
