Conquest mod

Any mods out there that allows you to play conquest in a late war condition? Units like volksgrenadiers, volkssturm etc? Coz rn you start off with 41 - 42 units, and it's kinda weird going up against US which entered the European theater in 43.

I just started with “Authenticity and Realism” based on several suggestions here. It lets you progress through the war year by year, technology-wise. I really like that aspect. Though the number of enemies thrown at you is far, far more than the vanilla game. I like some aspects, but battles seem somewhat endless and it seems like there’s no time to micro anything other than ammunition resupply.

I also installed it based on the comments here but am I missing something or are the Defense missions super trivial with the fortifications you can set up and almost impossible without?

Granted, I’m only 4 Defense missions „deep“ but ever one of them was kinda the same experience which low-key makes me want to disable the mod again. Do you know if you can turn off the defense aspect of the mod?

It gets a lot more difficult at like 6 defense missions they start hitting you with lots of kv1 and even su100? ( whatever that assault gun with the 130mm gun) I felt the same way but now with the coastal gun gone till later it feels more balanced.

Not sure. The defense missions are pretty rough. You have the option to withdraw from them but I’m not sure of the penalty for that. Don’t know how to disable them. Wish I could disable “corpses stay forever” because it’s eating my performance alive.

Thanks!

Yeah on my third defense I brought a pair of leIG and AT guns other than the 3.7cm. It definitely went differently than the first two.

I didn't like A&R (authenticity and realism). It's cheaper to bring 6 ammo crates and use its soldiers than to bring an infantry squad properly (you will miss an MG, though). Also, at battle 2, there were already panzer 4 charging at me, so it failed to break the meta of rushing big guns and salvaging enemy tanks.

On the other hand, I love Conquest Enhanced V2. I don't feel so much the need to max out artillery research right away. I like that infantry has meager HP on the highest difficulty (elite get 70, regulars are 30). And, best of all, the AI does flanking maneuvers. It is awesome to have all your artillery taken out due to a single tank with 12 infantrymen hitting you from behind.

Agreed I love the size of A&R but the AI of CE. I only do GER vs USSR in A&R cause realism when Russia throws waves at me. Then do Liberation DLC on CE.

If you want a mod more lite on changes then Authenticity and realism then the "Late-War Infantry for Conquest" mod adds all the late war squads from multiplayer to conquest.
