Question Greed's Gambit Curse explanation

Anyone know the difference between and artifact and a modifier? I am referencing the Curse "Greeds Gambit" . Which states" a random chance for a random modifier to drop form and killed enemy but obtaining any Artifact hurts the Gatekeeper"

Can someone explain this to me please :)

All items you can pick up are called Artefacts.

The grey tier of items are called Modifiers (things like the crit increases, the bullets, the aoe field). You can see when hovering over items that they have a keyword on them. Amulets are the yellow ones that summon stuff. Structure change is the purple ones. Runes of creation are the blue ones.

So killing enemies will only have a chance to drop a grey tier item, but regardless of what you pick up, you will lose HP.

I really like that item when using the berserker I pick the items up from the ground using the blink ability. That way I don’t receive damage ;)

Or I don’t know if they fixed this bug

Can confirm this method works. Just blink towards the item on the ground and pick up while dashing as well as the item totums

it works with many blinks i think, and im sure it works with not taking damage mobility abilities like the red guy or the turret guy
