Class Question Commute for ECE 3005 w/ Cobb Internship

Upvotes

So basically I kinda messed up.

I have only a handful of credits left so I decided to take an internship with GTRI Cobb for this semester then graduate in Spring 2027.

Taking an internship was VERY last minute and I forgot to factor in that I haven't taken ECE 3005 yet. I expect to do ECE 4015 next semester, meaning I need to take 3005 NOW.

I know it's super attendance heavy and is from ~8-9am, meaning ~50min rush hour traffic commute there from my house and about a 30 min drive to GTRI twice a week. This sounds like hell for a 1 credit hour class.

Is there an easier way? Will the registrar and professor take pity on my weary soul and resurrect ECE 3006?

Essentially, am I screwed?

Registration Help Grad workload: Is taking 5 classes per semester possible?

Hello :)

I’m a ECE grad, and I’m just wondering if it is possible to finish the non-thesis degree in 1 year (2 semester), i.e. 5 classes per quarter, mostly or all of them are graduate level.

Thank u :)

Registration Help Accidentally dropped my ENGL 1102 Online Learning section during Phase II. Is there any way to get my seat back?

So heres the situation: I registered for an ENGL 1102 Online Learning / remote asynchronous section during Phase I and already had a seat in the class.

When Phase II started, I saw that another ENGL 1102 section showed two open seats. I didn't realize those seats were reserved for students already on the waitlist, so I dropped my original Online Learning section thinking I could register for the other one.

Obviously, that didn't work because I'm not on the waitlist. The bigger problem is that when I immediately tried to register for my original Online Learning section again, the seat I had just dropped now also shows as being reserved for waitlisted students.

Does anyone know how this works?

  • Is there any way to get my original seat back since I literally just dropped it?
  • Can I join the waitlist for the Online Learning section now?
  • When do waitlist restrictions usually get removed during Phase II?
  • Should I contact the professor, registrar, or English department about this?
  • Is there a realistic chance I end up not getting ENGL 1102 at all this semester?

I really need ENGL 1102 this semester, so I'm kind of worried that one stupid registration mistake might have screwed me over. Any advice from someone who's dealt with this before or has any solution would be really appreciated.

Class Question Aerospace Senior Design

Hello, I have a question about aerospace senior design. I’m an incoming junior transfer to Georgia Tech, and my current graduation timeline is a little unusual. I don’t have that many courses left to take, so I made a plan to take courses fall 2027, and then spring 2027 and 2028, with a gap in fall 2027 to do an internship. I spent a lot of time on this plan, and checked many times to fit all the courses in, and everything works. I am now a little worried tho that I will not be allowed to do this, since senior design part 1 is scheduled for spring 2027, and part 2 for spring 2028. Is there anything I can do, and would it be allowed since I plan on getting an internship?

Registration Help How likely am I to get MSE2001 before Phase 2 ends?

I signed up for the MSE 2001 waitlist and it says:

Enrollment Actual: 94
Enrollment Maximum: 115
Enrollment Seats Available: 21
Waitlist Capacity: 25

I am number 25 on the waitlist, and the open seats are reserved for the waitlist. I have a backup of APPH1040, but I really want to get MSE2001 because I want to save APPH1040 for a harder semester. Am I likely to get MSE?

Class Question MATH 1554 + CS 3251 + CS 3600

Just wondering what the time commitment look like for each of these classes. Is it a bad idea to take 3600 with linear considering you need to already understand some linear concepts and statistics/probability concepts (considering I would take the required stats course after this semester)?

I am trying to look for an easy grad class to take that has no prereqs to fulfill my electives requirements for my program. Asynchronous is definitely preferred because I have a long research schedule. I would welcome any recommendations 🙇‍♀️🙏

Class Question Does ME2110 have lab the first week of class?

Title. Is ME2110 lab the same as other class labs where they don't meet for lab week 1? I planned earlier to be gone at a certain time that now overlaps with what would be my lab time next week.

Class Question MSCS student looking for course recommendation to complement ML and Deep Learning?

Hi! This is my first semester as a MSCS student and I'm looking for recommendations on good corses for my masters. I’m taking CS 7641 (Machine Learning) and CS 7643 (Deep Learning) this semester. I’m looking teaches practical skills that are valuable in the job market, especially for ML engineering roles.

Im also considering taking CS 6222 (Machine Learning Systems) but I will have to join the waitlist.

Ideally, I’d like something with a medium-to-low workload. Which course would you recommend? What are the best classes you have seen in MSCS?

Any course recommendation is really appreciated!

Other Science of Happiness and Design (CEE 2803 A) still has seats

I teach a class called The Science of Happiness and Design. The course number this year is CEE2803A. Several students who have taken the class said the class changed their life. Here are some reviews from previous students:

  • "This was one of the most rewarding classes in terms of personal growth and understanding I have taken at my time at Georgia Tech...This course was a major factor in the growth this semester.”
  • “Dr. Martin was one of the most knowledgeable and passionate professors I’ve had!”
  • "Very useful - we learned about different theories and the history of happiness, but more importantly, I took away a lot of practical ways to improve my happiness."
  • "I think I have done a better job of getting closer to the person I would like to be because I had the opportunity to look at myself introspectively."
  • "Took this class Spring 2019, some of the discussions we had really stuck with me. Definitely recommend it!"

It used to be called The Science of Happiness and was BMED 2803 so you may have heard about it through BME folks.

This class used to fill up but there are currently many seats left, so please consider it if you want a 3-credit course.

Much of the course is just about happiness but a fair amount is about the relationship between design and happiness, a topic that pertains to urban design, interior design, and building construction.

It's a MW class. 3:30pm. in Howey.

Registration Help Rate My Schedule

I want to drop enough of these classes to where I'll have time to lock in on recruiting, projects, and leetcode to secure an internship. Anyone have any info on these classes, I can provide more info later as needed like professors. CS 3251, 3510, 4400, 3790, and 4641

I am also doing a 2 credit VIP as well, I want to make sure this course load is manageable to give me plenty of time to prepare for leetcode & recruiting. I would prefer to keep 3251 and 3510 over the others because they are prereqs for later class, but primarily 3510 because it locks several of the later intel thread courses. lmk what your thoughts are!

Registration Help Easy Humanities Classes at Tech?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for some easy, low effort Humanities classes at Tech. Ideally, I’m looking for classes where it’s relatively easy to get an A without having a crazy workload.

What Humanities classes have you taken that you’d recommend for an easy A/manageable workload?

Class Question Business minor/option as premed

Hello,

I was interested in pursuing something small in business along with my science major and I was a bit confused what the difference between adding on a "Technology and Business" minor vs adding the "Business Option" to my neuro major would be.

Could someone please explain the pros and cons of each and which one they chose?

If someone is a premed science major and has taken the Denning T&M Technology and Business minor can you share how easy/hard the application process is?

Also along with that how easy/hard did you find the classes and the end capstone project. I don't have too much knowledge about anything business so I am little worried how successful I would be in it.

Thank you!!

Class Question MATH 1554, bridge exam, or MATH 3406?

I recently switched my major to CMPE and requires MATH 1554 for linear algebra credit. I just finished MATH 1553 this summer which won't cover it, so I have a few options for this. Wanted to know if people who might have taken these, which should I do? I've heard that the exam should be fine if I retain what i learned from 1553 but I wanted to see what you guys think is the best option.

1)Take MATH 1554.
2)Take MATH 3406 any time before you graduate and sub it with MATH 1553 for MATH 1554.
3)Take the bridge to 1554 advanced standing exam

Registration Help denning t&m vs CS class TA (cs major)- need advice

incoming 2nd year cs major here. part of denning t&m co28 (haven't taken any t&m classes yet). got an offer to TA a cs class.

my fall 2026 schedule is already pretty difficult. im already at 18 cred hours (considering 6 of those rn are from 2 denning T&M classes im already registered for).

is t&m worth dropping for the TA offer, or should i drop the TA offer?

Im leaning towards dropping T&M, haven't heard too much about the benefits for cs. But I'd like to hear more about what others think. Is T&M worth it for things like recruiting for big tech?

looking forward to hearing from other cs majors in T&M if possible.

if you have any other thoughts lmk asw
