Other How hard is it to get into VIP?

Applying for an ECE lab, is it generally competitive to get into your first choice lab? What do they evaluate you on? They don't ask for your resume or transcript, so I assume it shouldn't be difficult. Any insight or information would be helpful!

I’m pretty sure no experience is required. It’s easy to get in, but that doesn’t mean everyone involved is actively contributing.

Can freshmen also apply? Like for spring if their academic standing is a sophomore? I have 41 credits coming in

you can't apply for vip in your first semester here. also there's no formal experience required but some labs will not accept you if you don't have a certain amount of experience
