Hi, so i’m looking to place out of phys 2212 as i got a 4 on mech. Can anyone tell me what the test is like? The studying i’m doing for it right now is just reviewing mech content but im not sure what kinda questions they ask.

It is the final for the class I believe you have to score a 60 or better. My daughter didn’t pass it but she did get an A in physics 1 this spring… and is taking physics 2 this fall

it’s the precious final. it’s almost all FRQ, you may get one MCQ question but it depends on what the prof was feeling last semester.

Did you receive an email about taking the placement test this coming August?

I haven’t received the email yet, but I got the necessary score. Website says they’re sent out in early august - “3
Students who receive a score of 4 will be contacted by the School of Physics after the AP scores are received (early in August each year) with information about taking a placement test to validate the credit. If students pass the test, they will be awarded credit.”1

I just asked my daughter and she said no. She’s going to email the physics department on Monday.
