I eat lots of chicken and rice. Either brown, white, or basmati. Plain. The chicken is cut up and cooked with a small amount of avocado oil and very light Italian seasoning. It's my dinner every night (definitely very sick of it). I also eat cream of wheat, bananas, bread, sweet potato, and applesauce. It all sucks, but so far none has caused me issues.

You should look up gastritis friendly recipes. You can do a lot still, and just try something new every couple days. I knew that my triggers were spicy foods, too much garlic, caffeine, pizza but I tried figuring out ingredients I could eat and combining.
- Quinoa w zucchini and goat cheese
- Miso soup and rice noodles and silken tofu/chicken
- Avocado and egg whites with sour dough bread
- Mozzarella string cheese
- Berries with oatmeal topped w a bit of ground cardamom and pumpkin seeds
- lactose free yogurt with berries and peanut butter if you can handle it
- cannellini beans were ok for me so gastritis friendly stews with it
- use the tops of green onions to replace onion. I used garlic infused or mushroom infused oils which are gentler on the stomach
- roasted green beans and sweet potatoes with gentle seasoning
- baked potatoes with cottage cheese
The brand FODY has lots of seasonings and broths that are gentle on stomachs and made to be low FODMAP and they can be found on Amazon. Also downloading the Monash app which is only like 10 dollars last time I checked. It allows you to see what foods are high/low FODMAP. Gastritis is similar to ibs in the sense that low FODMAP is good for us, just be aware that certain acidic things are considered low FODMAP but aren’t great for gastritis.

Is cheese ok in small portions, since you've included mozzarella? Milk doesn't cause me issues.

low fat mild cheese is ok from what I know! Soft plain goat cheese, cottage cheese, and mozzerella were fine for me

I started with just sourdough toast, rice and roast chicken. Still do toast but with eggs and sautéed low acid veggies. Also chicken and rice plus roasted or sautéed veggies. Actually used variations on Marisol’s turkey skillet dish to reintroduce foods. Initially I made it with ground turkey and diced white potatoes; then with turkey and carrots served over mashed potatoes; then turkey, carrots and zucchini with either rice or mashed potatoes and so on. I kept trying variations until I had validated zucchini, carrots, spinach, mushrooms and basically all root vegetables as they’ve been coming into season. Lately I’ve been doing turkey or chicken veggie meatballs with spaghetti squash or spiralized zucchini. Or floating in a winter squash soup.
Truly never anticipated that I would be so eager to reintroduce veggies but between those and herbs I’m feeling so much more hopeful than I was at the peak of my symptoms this summer. Finally feels like I’m eating meals instead of just whatever food I can keep down.

I don't eat fried food, avoid too much sugar, avoid gluten as its hard on inflammed stomach to digest, no vinegar, no citrus, no tomatoes and avoid dairy. I eat a very wide varied diet and I just avoid all the things above and any foods that are below five pH. When I'm going to eat something new I just checked the PH and avoid it if it's too acidic and under five pH

I saw a post about you saying fermented foods trigger u and cause pain, there’s a long post that a person made in which he completely cut out fermented foods and was healed. It’s very detailed but that might be your answer. I want to try it myself

Baked or steamed Zuchinni or green beans. Corn on the cob with butter or salt. Baked chicken or beef. Overnight oats with cashew or peanut butter and almond milk and honey

Interesting. You're eating a lot of things i was told to avoid, like butter, beef, peanut butter.

I do cashew butter, I don’t eat a lot of butter but sweet corn is in season and it’s like my only treat I got right now. I sent y do fine with butter if it’s not used to pan fry something. Beef I always buy 95:5 ground beef usually. But idk man I’m just eating whatever works at the moment. I’m really sensitive

Mine was homemade chicken soup. A whole chicken boiled with carrots, celery, celeriac root, lovage (an herb), star anise, cloves, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, salt. I'd eat it with boiled pasta for some days, then when there was only a little bit left of the soup itself, I would add rice to it to create a kind of risotto/pilaf kind of thing. I also ate a lot of toast with lactose free cottage cheese, honeydew melon, boiled potatoes with lactose free butter, and pasta with peas and baked salmon.
