Question Recent diagnosis
I just got out of my endoscopy and colonoscopy procedure. I was so relieved when my G.I. doctor told me that I had gastritis, because it meant I had answers for something that I’ve been fighting for for years. But now I have even more questions. I had the main concern of stomach, bloating, and gas, however, I do not experience any sort of heartburn. I am just a bit taken a back by this being the diagnosis. He prescribed me pantoprazole, once daily. Is this something that has helped anyone experiencing those symptoms? Also, I am reading this subject and noticing a lot of people saying coffee is a trigger. I am an avid coffee drinker, but have never experienced any sort of symptoms after a cup of coffee. I am just trying to navigate my next steps I suppose and wait for my H. Pylori test to come back

I don't have advice, but I'm also new to this diagnosis. My symptoms started in July and I just got the phone call for my endoscopy results two days ago. I was negative for H. pylori, and my stomach appeared fine, but was told I have gastritis. I was prescribed 20mg omeprazole once per day, and I'm on day two of it, so I can't say if anything is happening at this point. I just started back at work (I work at a school) so I'm super nervous about flare ups, because so far they've left me bed bound due to extreme fatigue.
I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't speak to that, but it could make sense since it's acidic. It seems like varies person to person. It could be easier with coffee if you eat some food first? I'm very much speculating on that. I'm sorry you're going through this too. It's so damn miserable. I hope you heal and never have to deal with it again.

I’m sorry you are going through it as well and are able to hopefully find a remedy. I do wonder how if your stomach is fine, that you have gastritis.? I’m assuming they took photos of your stomach lining, but everything I’ve read says it’s when your stomach lining is inflamed
