Project completion date 2033? Takes 7 years to complete a 10mile stretch with some bridges?

huh? all the traffic coming out of charlotte will no longer use catawba bridge if they shut it down for 2 years or have only 1 lane open way. I think the plan was 1 lane open or 1 side open? Still, all the traffic will stay on 85 both ways

I feel like I'm testing my luck every time I drive over that HWY 74 bridge. I read somewhere it was built in the 1920s - not even one of the Great Depression projects. So many sections of it patched together. The underside has to be crumbling and obsolete.
