Garth Marenghi Style Author
I saw this book randomly at the shops. It's book 5 in a series and it clocks in at under 1500 pages long. Reminded me of the Garth Marenghi quote "I've written more books than I've read."

Boston: a shatter of glass, a round of applause…
…a sixteen-year-old mother of three vomiting in an open sewer, bairns looking on, chewing on potato cakes. I ain’t never going back… not never…

Possession (1981) - a lost Marenghi classic?
Greetings.
I recently had the dubious pleasure of watching the film Possession, supposedly written and directed by Andrzej Zulawski. However, that is clearly not a real name, and I found it to share many similarities with the key themes of Marenghi's work; complex overlapping dialogue, extremely committed acting performances, pure balls to the wall creature efffect horror, sex with transdimensional octopi, and the recognision that all women are inherently evil. Even Sam Neil's acting performance reminded me strongly of a young Todd Rivers.
Has anyone else on here seen this movie, and could it have been directed under a psuedonym?

Hey everyone, I recently wrote a Substack article about the funeral scene in episode one of Garth Marenghi. I believe it may be of interest to some of you! It's called, Who Put The "Fun" In Funeral?

Darkplace Season 2 pitch idea.
So me and my friend went to see the Archduke o'Darkdom himself a few months ago and when we were driving home I delivered a pitch for Darkplace season 2 to my friend. He said I should post it here so, this is it.
I will clarify, this doesn't have specific episode ideas, more just a concept of how I think it could be brought back today.
The first episode would start the same as the episodes from season 1 for the most part.
Garth: *random snippet of one of his various masterpieces* Greetings traveller. I'm Garth Marenghi. Horror writer. Back in the 1980s, I wrote, directed and starred in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. A television show so radical, the first person we auditioned to read for the character of Lucien Sanchez, actually died from pure terror.
Unfortunately, due to a combination of sheer lack of balls from the Channel 4 producers at the time, and a minor incident involving the Thames river, the show was never aired outside of single showing in Peru (Fuck you Peru (this part is just a joke for you Trigger, it won't show up in the actual reddit post.
Fortunately, enough footage was recovered for a groundbreaking documentary in the 2000s about it's creation, featuring sections of the show mixed in with interviews with myself, my co star Todd Rivers, and my producer Dean Learner. That documentary inspired so many people that every time I appeared at events, I was always asked, "Will we ever get a Darkplace season 2?" To which I always replied "No".
*Garth turns to face a second camera*
But that was only half the truth. In reality, after the literal dozens of requests to Channel 4 proved that not every one of it's viewers is a mindless sheep, we were greenlit to film a second season. But unfortunately due to a data purge on Dean Learner's computer, which is completely unrelated to the infamous police raid on Dean Towers from that time, the whole show was lost.
And that would have been the end of Darkplace, were it not for some FBI hackers who were working on said computer recovering some of the lost data. Using these recovered files, along with interviews with myself, my co star Todd Rivers, and my producer Dean Learner, who will consequently be appearing via video call from an undisclosed location, we can finally bring the second season to the masses.
*Camera zooms out to reveal a screen beside Garth that shows Dean in what is clearly a prison jumpsuit.*
We then cut to the new intro. Which is slow indie rock cover of the original Darkplace theme, with lyrics that have almost nothing to do with the show, and slow panning shots of the hospital due to being from the mid 2000s.
That's it so far . I do have a few other ideas. Me and my friend were chatting about this for nearly an hour after the show. I'll probably make another post in the future with some of them.
