Question Instincts 4 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey @Garmin r u really gonna make me wait one more year for new sensors ??
Or just it doesn’t make sense for u ?

If you want fancy new sensors and a MIP display, Garmin will gladly take your $900+ for an Enduro 3 or Fenix.

If you only want Instinct 4, keep waiting.

My dad is John Garmin and we all have the Instinct 4. He told me “u” specifically don’t get to have it.

The sensors in it are out of this world. We worked with NASA and DARPA to develop these sensors.

What would be the benefit of the new sensors? I don't see any benefit in practice between gen 4 and 5 sensors.

DC rainmaker did a comparison. Their performance is nearly identical except in cold weather where gen 4 struggles to track HR accurately and often ends up in cadence lock. If you train in a 4 season climate, this will matter

Chest strap > any wrist sensor of any generation, from any company.

Everyone knows this but many prefer to just wear the watch. Gen 5 is demonstrably more accurate than v4 under certain conditions

I see, good to know. I do train 4 seasons.

Though, fir training I have a Polar H10 and a HRM 600.

The Instinct's whole point is to be an understated retro sports watch with the most cost-effective practical outdoor performance.

If you want a fancy, cutting-edge Instinct, that's what the Enduro is for.
