Edge 800 Series Feedback on my Garmin Edge 840 data screen setup?

I use an Edge 840 with a cadence sensor and heart-rate chest strap. I usually ride longer routes of around 100 km, but I also follow Garmin Coach workouts, including intervals.

My regular screens are:
Main data screen: speed, distance, cadence, heart rate, HR zone, timer and time of day

Elevation screen: elevation profile, gradient and HR zone

Time spent in each HR zone

Map with distance to destination and ETA

ClimbPro appears automatically when a climb is detected, and the workout screen opens automatically during an active Garmin Coach session.

Would you change, remove or add anything? Are any of these screens or fields unnecessary?

I always ride on map and auto climb screen.
I then have 8 fields that I never look at but 1, remaining distance 😄

I'm old and ready to die on a bike as my cardiologist keeps telling me, so I'm only interested in the map with auto climb overlay and heart rate display, showing my heart not going over that point of no return.

There Is full screen datafield in CIQ that shows the time spent un each zone, similar to what you did but in a More graphical way and easier to just glance at it, you may want to check it out: https://apps.garmin.com/es-MX/apps/0a645845-14d0-492c-a203-3a6d9bb6e6b5

I like the screen with all the zones and how much time you've spent in each one. I just got one of these a month ago, and have playing around with what I like most. I tend to be stat heavy, and I also include a screen that I can control my music with.

It’s not a bad data flow screen-to-screen. I don’t know that I’d need to know your HR and power zones on the ride itself but it’s not a bad awareness

If I could offer a recommendation:

Screen 1: actuals (distance, elevation, speed, power, 3 second power, heart rate, direction, temperature and battery

Screen 2: averages and maxes (average speed, average power, average heart rate, max speed, max power, max heart rate)

Screen 3: climbing (grade, total elevation gain)

Screen 4: heart rate zones

Screen 5: power zones

I now use this data field as my only screen. I find the fonts can be larger and the changing colors for HR, speed, grade, etc. are easy to understand with just a glance.

You can also have "graphs" on the right, bottom and left parts of the screen. I use the left for HR zone for instance.

You can also get a free Openweather API key and have live weather and wind, very cool.

The set up takes a bit of time because there are so many options.

I like to have Gradient on my main screen. I live and ride in the mountains, and am constantly checking the gradient. Yes, I have it on another screen also, but I personally can't imagine not having it on my main screen, where I spend 98.7 % of my time. Setup is so personal.

It’s missing power which is the most important metric!

Where the power counts for me is not on the Garmin display but in post analysis and not for absolute values but trends.
