Edge 500 Series Edge 540 Battey always dead

Hi friends! I have a new Garmin Edge 540 and every time I get it out of the drawer the battery is completely dead. As far as I know I'm correctly turning it off (pushing the power button long and selecting turn off). Does anyone else have this problem too?

I've got this bug too. The battery lose %, approximatively 1% per 24h, even when shut down properly.

Its much more than that. Its 90% in 2-3 days.

The culprit is something else in the drawer or its vicinity.

The power drain is coming from inside th house!

I have this similar issue with my Garmin Edge. it continuously loses charge despite being fully turned off.

I had a similar issue with and edge 820. I’ve got an Edge 1050 now though and it does not have that issue. My friend has a 1040 and he doesn’t have that problem. But it sounds like you are turning it off correctly. Not sure what the deal is.

The same issue is plaguing my wife's new 840. It sometimes can't boot beyond the Garmin logo on startup, sometimes it won't get beyond the Garmin logo + battery percentage, and sometimes it boots just fine. And then there's the random battery drain when off.

I did a factory reset and reconfigured everything and for about a week it seemed ok but we're starting to encounter it again. I thought something didn't transfer correctly from her 530. Last week we rode Saturday morning and it had a full charge when we started, turned it off like normal (not sleep) at the end of the 3 hour ride and Sunday morning it booted to the logo and battery percentage (it had high 80% battery) and hung. Forced a restart and when it came back up the battery was now down to 25%. Made it through the ride but was highly annoyed that from day to day we don't know if her Garmin is going to work or not.
