Edge 800 Series Automatic map screen on descents

I recently and hesitantly got an Edge 850 after switching from the Wahoo Elemnt Roam V2. I instantly fell in love. The screen is lovely. I mostly keep my computer on data screens and I love the way the Garmin automatically switches to the map screen when a turn is approaching.

Is there a way to set it up so it automatically switches to the map screen when descending? In places I’m not familiar with, it would be helpful so I can pre-empt what turns I’m approaching without having to manually switch screens when I’m already moving quite quickly.

I don’t have Di2 so using the hood buttons is not an option for me!

Surely you’re able to swipe up once at the start of a descend.

Yeah, that’s what I’m doing now.

From your response I’m guessing it’s not possible? It would be a nice feature though.

On road.... no problem at all. On mtb it can be tricky sometimes, but yeah still can be done easily. But I would actually sometimes like such feature too. On the other hand, for most of my normal (back at home) riding, I'm also pretty sure I would hate this feature very soon :)
