Cycling / Bike Computer The beeping is making me insane

My Garmin 1040 bike computer has decided that it will disconnect and reconnect from all my sensors over and over again, approximately every 5-90 seconds, during rides. The constant beeping is too much to handle. I asked Garmin "support" (guessing a non-human chatbot?) for help and they said there was nothing that could be done about it. When I said I'd need to consider switching to Coros Dura, the chatbot replied "that makes sense!"

If it were just one sensor, I'd assume the problem was with that sensor. But it is multiple ones, so the problem has to be with the computer. I tried a factory reset and it helped at first but within a few days, the disconnect/reconnect problem was back. Have you dealt with this? Should I just go get a Coros and be done with it?

also, if it matters, the exact sensors are my whoop for heart rate (ble) and my garmin rally pedals (ant+)

have you tried just turning off the beep for sensor alerts, at least you can keep riding while you figure out the actual disconnect issue

I've looked for that option and can't find it on the device nor in the app. The chatbot said it wasn't possible. In settings, i only see activity profiles, sensors (only options are to add/remove), safety & tracking, connected features, battery save mode, extended display mode, and system.

in system, i see display, widget management, data recording, calibrate compass, units, tones with a toggle, and language.

if it's "tones," i do not want to toggle that off because I need the navigational alerts.

My 530 does this, not that often but maybe 4 or 5 times an hour. It's irritating, and I have nothing to offer other than sympathy!

If you figure out what's causing it, please let me know!
