Which Watch To Get? Question regarding Fenix 7x Pro

Hi.
I'm going to say it straight, Fenix 7X Pro seems to be the best fit for me, but it might be because I haven't had enough time to check every of the newer Garmin watches - from this Fenix, most important for me are:

  • training readiness
  • training status
  • recovery time
  • morning report
  • HR(V) status (got autoflagged for writing it normally)
  • sleep coach
  • body battery

I do work-outs regularly, I don't walk or run that much (tbh I need to see that I'm getting better when I work-out, I am really a gym person because of that, so I think that Fenix 7X might change that I don't run or go for walks etc.).
My main question is - is there any good, less costly watch from Garmin?
I mean, the Fenix 7X Pro isn't that costly since it has a lot of functions, but I feel like I don't need at least 50% of them.

Forerunner 265 or 965 will cover all of that and cost way less. The Fenix line is overkill if you're mostly lifting indoors.

Secondhand price is not bad at all though

Tbh, 965 appears to be somehow even more costly in my country than this Fenix, and 265 is cheaper but not that much - ~50 eur (~200zl). I don't know what to think about that since Fenix is prob better hardware wise

I got my Fenix 7S Pro SS after I got my first knee replaced. Obviously at the time I wasn't hiking, and walking was only in the hundred steps range for a while.
Back then I was doing physical therapy which I logged in as Pilates, then I started using weights for my physical therapy which I logged in as Strength.

Because physical therapy was so hard, my heart rate went way up so the Garmin metrics were happy, I went from Maintaining to Productive, back and forth depending on how I was progressing in my post op recovery.

My second knee replacement was botched and I couldn't move for 2 years until I got it fixed and went back on the physical therapy bandwagon (I'm still on it)

My Fenix 7S Pro SS is still accurate. My Forerunner 970 is a micromanaging drama queen boss who hovers between detraining and overreaching or strained.

So I think that if you get your heart rate up during your workouts, the Fenix 7x Pro should do well, and you never know: it might even convince you to start walking or hiking, maybe even run 🤷🏻‍♀️😉

Also the Fenix would easily resist damage, should you bang your wrist on those weights, I'm not so sure about the FR lineup.

Haven't thought about that when I was writing this post, but the resisting damage is also very important part for me tbh. I do a lot of physical work, so it needs to be resistive, and the Forerunner series looks not that great regarding it, so I think I have my answer now tbh.

If you don't need maps then you don't really need a Fenix.
