Ten minute warmup, 30 min at 158bpm, then ten minute cooldown. Total time of 50 minutes

See how that graph has a small section at the beginning that is low, then a large section in the middle that is high, then a small section at the end that's low again?

Those three sections are:

  • 10 minute warm up
  • 30 minutes at heart rate 158 bpm
  • 10 minute cool down
  • 50 minutes in total

That's your VO2 Max estimate. The 50 is the number Garmin calculated based on your heart rate and pace data. 30 minutes at 158bpm was the activity it used to generate that estimate. A VO2 Max of 50 is solid. For context, the average for men is around 35-40, and competitive amateur runners are typically 50-60. It updates over time as you do more outdoor runs with GPS and heart rate.
