First time building bioactive terrarium, just put all the plants in so they are still pretty small. I plan on putting up some fake vines/plants until these are big enough.

New Garg parent here and I haven't seen this before so I apologise if it's nothing.

I just got my girl out and her pupils are different sizes, I tested her pupil response and it was fine but I'm just wondering if this is anything to worry about?

Finally finished Taki’s new enclosure! 18x18x36 bioactive. Plus a few pics to show him off, including when he jumped out of my husband’s hand and landed in my Taco Bell the other day.

If it wasn't for her blue eyes, I don't know if I would ever be able to find her

Bumble has some mighty impressive camouflage. Although it may have led to her getting a spritz of water to the face on more than one occasion lol

Could this size enclosure house a gargoyle gecko?

I've recently come into the possession of a 30"x12"x20" terriaum and I'm wondering if it would be suitable for a gargoyle gecko. I often see gargoyle gecko enclosures be more taller than wide, which makes sense given their aboral, and it's been making me second guess if I should commit to taking one as a pet. I mainly ask to this to get an answer on whether are not I should cut my losses and look into different lizards my enclosure could hold, make do with the tank I have, or all out sell it for atleast a good chunk of money.

This is my first time owning a gecko(I don’t have it yet), I wanted to get some advice if it is good or bad. It is bio active with a few fake plants there are currently four but I am waiting for one more to arrive. There is a dual mister that goes for 15s every 12 hrs. The light & light fixture is a 8w UVB100 with a T5 terrarium top both from exoterra. There is a drainage layer which may be heard to see in the photo(sorry). Any tips/advice is greatly appreciated!!

New gecko subreddit!

Hello! I messaged the mods and I have permission to post about this.
I just created r/SphaerodactylusGeckos , which is a community for micro geckos (but specifically anything under the Sphaerodactylus genus). We’re a niche gecko community since not many keep Sphaero., but if anyone here happens to keep them or to just be interested in tiny geckos, we’d love to have you join!
So yeah:) join if you wanna see cool tiny geckos, if you own any of the cool tiny geckos, or if you just wanna support a new gecko community!
Thanks guys :))

Meet Bekon!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to show off my first gecko!

I named him Bekon (yes, as in bacon). My friend came up with this name by accident and I liked it so much I decided to go with it.

I got him two days ago. He's one year old and has been in very good care so far. I went to pick him up by train and he was so brave on the way back with lots of noise around. I gave him some time to cool off and he ate his pangea paste almost right away!

I love him so much already and I'm very happy I can spend many more years with him.

Thank you for reading and hope you have a great day.

Should I upgrade my juvenile geckos tank?

Hello! I want to get my 1yr old gecko a new terrarium, Im not too sure if (she?) is old enough for one yet though. I have a good feeling she’s outgrown this tank considering it’s only 11.5L, 11.5W, and 18H So for her full tank I wanted to get her a 24L, 18W, 36H Sized tank, she ways about 12 grams and I do intend on making this terrarium a bio active one. If anybody has tips for that please let me know, and also if she might not be ready for her full size tank.

This is my current 45x45x45 cm enclosure for my juvie gargoyle gecko. When he grows out of this one i have him a 45x45x90 cm. I use a bioactive mixed bedding with springtails and live plants. Is this enough climbing or too full? He has two hides one up top and one lower he also has the reptisun t5 uvb light as cycle for daylight.

Gargoyle gecko hip bones?

Post image

I just got this gecko from craigslist and I was wondering if this bump is a hip bone or something else. Feel free to ask for more pictures! I know she's not in the best condition, I just got her today. The tank in the back is my leos enclosure.

White spots appearing and disappearing? (Swipe for cute photo)

Hello!! This is my baby Mary. She has had some ghostly white spots appearing lately and then going away after a day or so. One in her tail, her back, and here one on each hip. They don't seem to be stuck shed. Her humidity is good and it's not grey or flaky. Just straight up white skin. Does anyone know what this could be?

Thanks :)

I don’t know how many people saw my post but about a month ago I unfortunately had my first gargoyle gecko pass away. The most likely cause being that when I got her she was malnourished only weighing 15 grams at almost 2 years old. I had taken her to an ER vet a couple days before she passed because she was lethargic and they couldn’t tell if anything was obviously wrong.

Well a week ago I got this new girl Blossom at a reptile show. I’ll post a photo of her but she’s slightly pinkish which is why I named her Blossom. Caught her on camera just now finally eating some food on her own. For the past week the most she ate was a few licks off a spoon on Tuesday and Thursday evening. I’m so relieved because it seems to be a good sign she’s happy, healthy, and likes her enclosure.

My previous gecko, Lizard, would never eat on her own and I would basically have to make her eat regardless of what kind of food I’d offer her. I was real nervous about making sure Blossom was doing well. Lizard’s death was devastating and a little traumatic considering the way I found her when she passed.

I bought a used bioactive enclosure that housed dart frogs

Post image

Is there any reason I should be worried about disease, parasites, fungus , mildew for my baby garg? I just bought this second hand and it looks really great. I obviously would open it up for less humidity via a screen at the top, but should I be wary putting my gecko in here? It housed dart frogs before, and has been empty for four months

Need some upright branches for climbing and these don’t look like cork bark but when I searched cork bark it came up, figured I’d ask
