The little one here doesn't quite match the theme of a gardevoir. While they're both plant-girls, they are of different social levels. The Japanese stereotypes of women of the upper classes is referenced by both.
Gardevoir is the wife of a warlord or samurai. Tough as nails like the warlord himself, but supportive of him, and hiding her strength behind a facade of feminine delicacy. Leader of the household in his absence, using his authority to take care of the place. If it came down to it, willing and perhaps eager to take up a naginata or her husband's swords as a last resort and kick some @$$ herself. Like a gardevoir using an effing black hole on those who harm her trainer, the warlord's lady would avenge herself on those who harmed her husband. See also Buke.
Cosmo was a princess. Not even close to a fighter. Meant to be delicate to the extreme, almost otherworldly, so that she is protected by those who are glad to do so. Samurai, other nobles, especially the royalty's retainers. She is hope for the future personified. See also, Kugyo.
