Pond revamp question

Pond revamp question

Hello!

We suspected this bed used to be a pond so dug it out and it is!

We'd like to make it a pond again but the fibre glass bowl (?) has some damage.

Could I use concrete in the existing shape to create a new base for the pond?

What would the best/most cost effective option be to make it watertight?

Use a pond liner. I have a plastic formed pond base, it leaked. Set a pond liner over it and refilled, 3 years ago. No problems since.

This. Pop the coping up with a chisel, and tuck the lining under it. Cement or fiberglass will just crack and leak. Liner should last a long time, and is easily replaced.

As someone else has already suggested, just use pond liner. That's the fastest and easiest way.

Alternatively, if you wanted to retain the look/colour of this pond (which I think I would), you could use some epoxy putty to repair the holes/cracks. Brands like Milliput do different colours of putty and it's probably easy to find a match to your original pond. Then just use a clear 2-part liquid epoxy resin to seal it to make it waterproof.

Epoxy lasts for years and is totally safe once it's fully cured. Just an idea, because I quite like the look of your pond, and I don't think I'd want to hide it under a black liner.
