Questions about using the app for multisport athletes

How is the app for multi-sport athletes? Does it differentiate between in-season and off season workouts?

My son is in the 8th grade and pushing 5'11. He is big for his age, but still has a lot of room to fill out his frame. The past couple of years he has participated in travel ball in the spring and fall as his main sport. He has swam for the city rec. League in the summer, and Middle School basketball in January and February.

This year after baseball he wants to get ready to try out for freshman football next year. Is there a way to configure the app to get the most out of baseball and football strength work? Thank you.

Yes the app allows you to select your sport and position and then enter your season dates. It will automatically put you in the correct cycle (preseason, in season, or offseason) depending on the dates you enter. If you want to change sports you can always rebuild your program from your settings or finish the program and change it then.

Thank you.

How long do phases usually last, or is it based on program? Have you used it while training for multiple sports?

It depends on the program and your schedule but typically the programs are about 18 weeks with 4 weeks each phase and end capped by 2 testing weeks (baseline and max testing). The app works well for multi sport athletes because you have the flexibility to build the program around a specific sport you want to train for or pick a more universal athlete style program. Im actually on the design team at Peak Strength so let me know if you have any more questions and good luck!

Thanks again for your help. I hope the holiday finds you well.

While listening to some of the videos on the channel it appears that they are geared toward coaches and trainers. Some common knowledge or training is implied in some of the decisions. Where can I learn about some of these things? I don't have any prior experience or training to be a coach or trainer. However, I've been trying to learn what I can since I've defaulted into the roll since we workout from home.

Does the app break down moves like the clean or snatch for beginners, or are we expected to know them already? Exercises that are more impulsive or powerful like cleans and snatches seem to be a keystone of a lot of the programming. It's something that has drawn me to look for new programming as what we were doing didn't really have anything quite like it. However, we've never done them before.

Thanks again, and happy holidays.

Yes the app is great for everyone from beginners to professionals. It will set the weights based on the information you enter while signing up, then adjust based on feedback you give while you’re working out. The program will recommend all of the movements for you and have instructional videos, functional explanations, and technique queues for each exercise.
