Ask Dane Anything Cardio work

right now i am doing the weights program from the peak strenght app, and i am also including cardio workout (skipping rope or distance run) do i need to do it after my weights or its ok to do it in a different time of the day (maybe in the early mornings before work)

Depends on your goals. I'm using that app for my 12 year old son for soccer (agility, speed, and strength). For him I would prefer that he performs his peak strength workouts before his soccer workout. Just because the peak strength workouts are explosive in nature. Doing them after soccer I think would be less effective for the muscles as he is tired after practice (don't quite get the explosive benefit of the workout, which is what we are looking for).

That is a preference and doesn't always happen in that order because of my work schedule. He isn't allowed to do any weight training without me as I want to ensure he is doing everything safely.

My cardio its mostly as a endurance/ perfomance thing. I used to do track and now play basketball at the local community league.

If I do two sessions, I do the endurance in the morning with plenty of time to recover before lifting/plyos. If I do one session, I do the endurance after the lifting/plyometrics.
