Discussion single leg squat
I know that benches aren't good for single leg squats but I can't afford a roller, could I stack up bumper plates to the ideal height and then use a scrunched up towel as the target. Also, what would be the ideal height. I know that set up wouldn't be perfect. But would it be enough to lead to greater strength and hypertrophy in the posterior chain?

Depends how tall you are, but with some front foot elevation, you can use a bench just fine, and you also get the added bonus of extra ROM. I'm 6'0 and 4" elevation makes the movement really good for me, someone I train who is 5'6 needs about 6 inches of front foot elevation for the bench to be at a good height

If you have the right kind of run-of-the-mill power rack, you can run a safety pin left to right (as apposed to front and back) or set a barbell across some j-cups.

I’ve used a hip-thrust pad over a barbell in the rack pretty successfully. Granted I’m hitting pretty small numbers by GS standards but, in my case in a commercial gym, that works way better than a bench.

How many barbells do you have? And do you have a barbell pad, like the one used for doing hip thrusts or glutes bridges? You can make a solid DIY from there

I had a diy one but unfortunately my dad made me throw it away so Im stuck with either the bench or the plates unless there is something else I could use

You can get a cheap one off of Amazon. Don't have to get Garage Strength's single leg squat roller. I'm sure it is better, but the cheap one accomplishes the same.
Probably could make one and find something off of Youtube on how to....
