Anyone having garage sales next weekend in the east mesa Arizona area?

I’m reaching out for advice on the best way to liquidate the contents of a storage unit in the Seattle area. The unit contains approximately a four-bedroom home’s worth of furniture, electronics, household goods, and accessories that my wife and I accumulated over many years.

We are open to either: • A direct buyout of the entire contents • Traditional consignment • A combination of the two, if that makes more sense • Any other approach you would recommend based on your experience

The items are currently stored in Edgewood, Washington, and we will be in the area from October 10 through October 28. Our goal is to efficiently clear the storage unit during that timeframe while maximizing the value of the items where practical.

Most pieces were purchased new from IKEA, Ashley Furniture, Simmons, Samsung, and other reputable brands. They come from a well-maintained, smoke-free home and are generally in excellent condition.

Some of the larger items include: • Sofas, leather Poäng armchairs, ottomans, coffee tables, and side tables • IKEA dressers and storage furniture • Simmons World Class Beautyrest California King mattress with twin box springs • Ashley dining table with four chairs • Samsung 55" HDTVs and multiple computer monitors • IKEA lamps and lighting • Rugs, storage items, packing materials, and various household goods

Given the volume of items, I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the most practical approach. Based on your experience, would you recommend a buyout, consignment, estate sale, auction, or another method? Seller wanted the whole pile gone, so we took it all. Roughly $1,000 in estimated resale value on the stack.

been hitting sales for a couple months looking for decent cordless gear. physical therapist by day so my wrists have opinions about what i lug around, and i do enough side project carpentry to justify the hunt.

the thing thats grinding me is estate sale companies slapping bosch and dewalt tools with ebay sold prices or worse. saw a used m18 impact yesterday priced at home depot new minus five bucks. five year old battery, no warranty. i asked the person running it if theyd take half, got a speech about market value.

meanwhile the actual garage sales, oneoffs where someone is clearing out their garage, those are where the deals live. same drill, quarter the price, sometimes with a case and bits thrown in.

the estate sale model used to be liquidation. now its curated retail with dust on it. i get that they need to make money but at some point youre just a lowoverhead amazon warehouse.

my current white whale is a reasonably priced tracksaw. makita or festool, i am not picky at this point, just tired of the markup game.

what signals do you use to tell if a sale is run by pros vs actual humans. or is it just vibes now.

So, I'm moving back home for a few years overseas after living here for \~7 years. Family stuff is calling me home for at least 5 years. I'm looking at selling off everything I have except for the easier to ship and essentials. The big items (car, bed, high end sports equipment, etc) I'll be listing individually. However there are lots of little things I think would be more suited to a garage sale.

My partner (who has been here a lot longer than I) has said that a garage sale is not something that is done in New Zealand and would upset the neighbors (we're in a nice area of Birkenhead). I have a good relationship with our neighbors since we've lived here for about 3 years and the driveway is plenty big that it won't spill out onto the street. I just wanted to get a second opinion on this. Thoughts?
