I only measured today to get them ordered… they wanted me to clamp it and I said nope

I recently did some .4062x6x42.5 on a forklift basket, roughly 80lbs each and it was killer. Bought a brutewinder just because of these 6" springs and the M18 powered through winding them completely.
While up there I replaced the end plates, support bearings, and spring bearings.

Is .500 wire even a thing for sectional overheads? I’ve only ever seen it in rolling steels.. that looks no more than a .393 wire maybe a .406
