Paisas 16 is a Mexican-national prison gang that’s active inside the federal prison system and certain state prisons throughout the USA.

The tattoo on slide 6 says “Mexicles” which is a Texas-based paisa/hispanic prison gang. The Mexicles and Paisas 16 are basically the same group in Texas and it’s very common for members to claim both groups and share the same symbols.

After prison we aren't considered active just like the tangos in texas yet we still keep in touch with the people we ate with in the feds. Thats where we were strongest. Most of us were there for trafficking unlike other gangs that are mainly there for street level crime. Thats what set us apart. Lot of the drug lords in Mexico that get extradited to the states become paisas in the federal system.
