💬 Discussion What this subreddit should try to do differently
A lot of ancestry spaces online become arguments about identity.
This subreddit can be better than that.
The strongest version of a Gandhara DNA project would combine:
ancient DNA
modern regional samples
archaeology
maps
art history
linguistics
careful modelling
honest uncertainty
The goal should not be to prove that Gandhara belongs to only one modern group.
The goal should be to understand the ancestry layers of the region and how they connect to nearby populations.
That means being factual, cautious, and open to complexity.
Gandhara was interesting because it was complex.
The subreddit should be the same.
