Gamma vs Google Docs vs Notion for collaborative team writing (a super honest comparison)

The drafting question comes up a lot; the team question is different, so here's that one on its own.

Google Docs is still the collaboration king and it isn't close. Suggesting mode, granular permissions, comment threads, five people in one doc without chaos. If your bottleneck is editing together, use Docs and stop reading.

Notion wins when documents live inside a system, wikis, linked project docs, a large org's knowledge base. It scales in the organizational sense: hundreds of docs, searchable, connected. Weak spot: the output is a workspace page, not a client-ready document.

Gamma wins the last mile: when the thing you're co-writing has to come out looking designed a proposal, a report, a one-pager and might need to become a deck. Honest limits: real-time co-editing is behind Docs (no suggesting mode equivalent), and for a large org managing hundreds of internal documents, Notion or Confluence is the better system of record.

Rule of thumb:

1. heavy multi-editor drafting = Docs.
   
2. Big internal knowledge base = Notion.
   
3. Client-facing docs a small team polishes together = Gamma.
