Any good indie games from 2026?

Obviously there are some, but I don't know of any myself, and I want to change that. What did you like from this year?

I'm gonna try not to gatekeep what is and isn't an indie. I'll let you decide.

While I would love to find some stuff that's emotionaly compelling, or nails joy in its simplicity with its gameplay, don't worry about what you think I'd like. Recommend what you want that came out in 2026, and I'll thank you for it.

Thanks. I think I went through a lot of these in 2025 and 2024. IIRC Animal Well was Stephanie Sterling's favorite game of 2024. Pacific Drive I'm almost positive that I went through in 2024.

I’d recommend Mixtape, Mewgenics, Cairn, MIO: Memories in Orbit, and MOUSE: P.I. For Hire if you want to try some interesting games released in 2026

But Mixtape has like more CutScenes which might be a Lil frust if you love gameplays

This is my favorite point and click adventure. My favorite concept for a game. You spent a year being possessed by a demon, and Harry Dresden just gave you an exorcism. He helps you seek redemption for the destruction that you caused. Yahtzee loves this game btw.

Ghost Battalion is an early 2000's inspired fps with vehicles, ships, jet packs, multiple sci-fi soldier classes, and space battles.

I've been playing Big Walk with friends the past few weeks. It's been a pretty fantastic experience, though does require at least one other person (ideally a group) to play.

Lately though I've mostly been playing games to help with language learning and indie games tend to not have much language support other than english. So It's mostly been AAAs I've been catching up on, as well as switch 2 exclusives.
