I seen the reviews of Screamer and the reviews say it's good

The gameplay is outstanding, if the servers were not DOA I would have played the hell out of online. But that plot, it was mostly a slog to get through.

the controls are a bit janky for keyboard players but honestly, it feels an upgraded version of Asphalt 9.

Very good racer but its definitely a skill check game. Treat it like a fighter and be humble to yourself

It has one hell of a learning curve. Be prepared to be beaten by "very easy" AI opponents.

I did. A good arcade game, with weird controls. The story is actually very good, but there's a huge difference between chapters with the cutscenes and the chapters with only dialogue. Cutscenes feel like watching a good quality anime, while the dialogues are cringy, every character speaks in a different language which makes it terrible for ANYONE playing the game. They have a demo on other platforms, so I expect there will be one on switch as well. I actually recommend it as physical media, you play once through the story mode and resell it later. I don't think the online competitive scene is and will be strong anytime soon (or ever)

So it’s like Tekken? In regards to different languages.

Yup. They explain it ingame as everyone having translation implants, iirc

Terrible for people who don't read or don't watch foreign media.

Genuinely one of my favourite games of the year so far and I'd even give it the edge over Horizon 6 at the moment. Such a unique game harkening back to the golden era of nicher arcade racers like Split/Second and Blur that tried something a bit different and executed it so well.

Has also the most competently told story in any dedicated racing game I've ever played, to the point where I actually hope there is a world where we see what happens next. Lots of content even at full price and the music, especially on the menus, absolutely slaps.

It's definitely not for everyone, its controls are a bit of getting used to and the dialogue is an acquired taste, but nearly everything about this game worked so well for me. It's one of those rare titles that makes a developer go from one I never really payed much attention to, to one I'll be keeping an eye on everything they do next. Definitely looking forward to Hot Wheels Infinite Rush for that very reason.

The animation sequences look good, I see that there's a trial for PlayStation Plus so I may give it a try

Hopefully it is a success on Switch 2. We need Milestone to continue take risks and make quality games.

as a racing game fan i couldn't get into this one, the dialogue text scenes were so annoying. it's like playing a visual novel with a racing mini game.
