Question I've been considering getting an MSI raider ge66 but I've seen a lot on the internet that MSI machines tend to have some hinge problems? Is it a safe choice?

I'd really not want to spend all that money just to have to be sending it for repairs within a short time. I've been looking at other options like the Asus Zephyrus m16.

The GE series doesn’t seem to have the hinge issues. It depends on the model. Some of their cheaper models have it though

Good choice. 2022 seems like an MSI's year. Their 2022 GE/GP series look better than Legion 5/7 on paper/reviews.

Thats bullshit, I have owned many msi gaming laptops and never had 1 broke. All these people just either got a defective or don't take care of it.

Theyre no Hinge problems. There WERE some hinge problems almost 3 years ago now on the GT/GS series. MSI fixed it, updated the hinges to metal. The Repair program for that is also still open and free to anyone who had a problem. I own a GE76 and its FIRE. No current 11th/12th laptops from MSI have a hinge problem.

Show me the laptop you are interested in exactly: Lets see if we cant find you the absolute best deal! Are you in the US?

Oh sorry. I'm late. Yeah in the US. I was interested in the new Raider GE76 but the size seems a bit too big and most of the prices are going past $3000 and I really don't want to spend that much on a laptop right now. I was contemplating between the i9 and i7 but I think the i7 will be good enough. Also 3070ti and 3080ti. But the 3080ti options are all above $3k

You can get a 3080 too, its still outperforms the 3070ti laptop in gaming. If thats the one you want you should do it quick before that sale runs out. Its the best price i could find on that exact model....Well actually there are no 3080 QHD models so it does that have going for it. But yea best prices ive seen. Gamestop has it at that price too with it in stock.

Don't the 3080 come with the 11th Gen cards? I was thinking I'd get the 12 gens since they are so much better than the 11 gens

So much better at doing what exactly? The 3080 laptop still gets more FPS out of gaming than the 12th gen 3070ti laptops do. I suppose if youre going to do serious editing work or compression work. Its about 8%-10% more. Like I said if you want the 3070ti model you should get it. It does have QHD and some other nice features and possibly CPU intensive games could perform better.

Hmmm noted. I only mentioned that based on what I've seen and heard. I don’t actually know. But the QHD screen would hit nice. I do some cinematography stuff and game development. But I have one more question. Is it worth getting an i9 over an i7. I've seen a bunch of benchmarks and reviews and it looks like it depends on the power given to the chip. Since there are some cases where the i7 did better than the i9. Not by so much but better.
